This unique design needed to be flat enough to be utilized during the winter as an ice skating rink (which has to have a virtually flat subsurface for the ice to be usable) and also be used as a synthetic lawn courtyard for the remaining seasons of the year for outdoor events at the growing entertainment district of Rosemont.
