Gentlemen:

 

Our new field just had its third birthday so I thought it was time to give you an update on how your Airfield is working here at A & M on our natural turf fields.

As you know, the soccer field was completed in August of 2002 using Tifsport Bermuda and your Airfield drainage system.  In addition to regular usage we’ve had multiple soccer camps each summer with over 600 campers during each session.

The Airfield System has met and exceeded any expectations that I had before the field was built.

I currently maintain Kyle Field that was constructed several years ago using the USGA method for golf green construction.  Kyle Field is a very good field, however, in my opinion the Airfield field has done as well or even better.

One of the reasons that make Airfield’s AirDrain for natural turf such a good system is how easy it is to manage.  I believe the uniform perched water table and the one inch air void created by the Airfield System help promote excellent turf growth.  The grass roots seem very strong and deep and the playing surface excellent.

In my opinion the Airfield System requires less irrigation and drains better than any field we have.  In fact, our Airfield drains so well that we have never had to cancel games or practices on it.

In conclusion I believe that Airfield’s AirDrain System is the best agronomical system available today.  We like our Airfield so much that when it came time to redo our baseball and softball fields we decided that Airfield was the way to go.
